Save Yourself Sometime To Go Smoothies2 min read

A few weeks ago I posted some pictures on Instagram of to go smoothies I whipped up and a lot of people have been asking me about them so I thought why not write a blog post? I haven’t written a cooking related post in a while so this was a great excuse to get back to it.

I have had a lot of early days lately so I thought about experimenting with frozen homemade smoothies. I got some little plastic cups and made a huge batch of smoothie, portioned them out and froze them. All I had to do in the mornings was take one out of the freezer when I woke up and it would be ready to go by the time I got to work. This was so convenient and I’m going to continue doing this every week from now on. It’s so nice to not have to think “what am I going to have for breakfast?” every morning when waking up, and then the dreaded part of actually getting up and preparing something. This takes care of all that!

Plain Yogurt (organic if possible)
Unsweetened Almond Milk
Orange Juice (fresh squeezed if possible)

The only directions are put all of the ingredients int he blender and blend them until everything is smooth (I like mine to be as smooth as possible, makes it better for freezing in my opinion) and portion out into smaller cups and freeze. I didn’t have specific measurements for each ingredient. If you read this blog often you know me, use whatever amount you want that fits your taste buds. It’s really that simple and I am so excited to have figured this little trick out.

The last batch I made had been in there for almost two weeks. I just had the last one today and it still tasted amazing! I would suggest not using ice since you are going to freeze them it will make them more watery when you thaw them out.
