So Simple Turkey Meatballs

Recently I decided to start eating ground turkey instead of ground beef because it’s much healthier. Even though when I first tasted ground turkey I didn’t care for it, I’ve discovered that over the past few years I must have developed a taste for it because now I think it’s delicious!

The other day I saw a picture of spaghetti and meatballs and ever since I have been thinking “I should make some meatballs,” today that finally happened. I didn’t really have a recipe for meatballs on hand and wasn’t in the mood to sift through online recipes so decided to just go for it and improvise. Whenever I throw some random stuff together I’m always a little nervous about how it will turn out, but I was right on the money with this one. The meatballs turned out so delicious, I sampled one just the meatball without any sauce or anything on it and I could of sat there and ate the whole plate of them right then and there it was so yummy.

Ingrediants:
Jennie-O Ground Turkey
Fresh Parsley
Whole Grain Bread Crumbs
Black Pepper
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Egg

Recipe:
1. Chop up some fresh parsley pretty fine, but not to fine, you want to make the meatballs look pretty after all, and throw it in a mixing bowl with the ground turkey and bread crumbs (I tried to get the breadcrumbs as fine as possible)(Finally a good use for the end piece of the loaf of bread, which normally goes to waste)

2. Add the egg (I used 1 egg with 1 pound of ground turkey) and mix everything together using your hands (it will get a little messy a few times, but that’s part of the fun right?)

3. Throw in the onion powder, garlic powder, and Black Pepper and mix again with your hands. After I mixed it a little bit I added some more Black Pepper and mixed again. With this part it’s all about using as much of each of these ingredients as you want to find your sweet spot for taste.

4. Spray the bottom of your pan and roll the meatballs into balls. This is the fun part, figuring out how big to make them and trying to make all of them the same size.

5. Put the pan in the oven at 450° for about 20 minutes (time depends on size of meatballs, mine were pretty big so you need to really pay attention and make sure you don’t leave them in to long)

A little while later I enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs. I used Classico Signature Recipes Vodka Sauce which is my favorite brand, they have so many different great sauces, I highly recommend checking them out.IMG_1414_2IMG_1415
